Ingredients:
3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
½ cup unsalted butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup chopped nuts (optional – walnuts or pecans)
Optional layer: 1 cup peanut butter (for that creamy middle layer shown in your picture)
Instructions:
- Prepare the pan: Line a 9×13-inch pan with parchment paper or lightly butter it.
- Melt base mixture:
In a medium saucepan, combine the chocolate chips, butter, and sweetened condensed milk over low heat. Stir until smooth and fully melted. - Add flavor:
Remove from heat, stir in vanilla extract and nuts (if using). - Layer option:
Pour half the chocolate mixture into the pan and spread evenly.
Warm the peanut butter slightly (30 seconds in the microwave) and spread it over the first layer.
Pour the remaining chocolate mixture on top and smooth it with a spatula.
- Set:
Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until firm. - Cut & serve:
Cut into squares with a warm knife. Store in an airtight container at room temperature or in the fridge.
