keto chili cheese hand pies

Ingredients

For the Keto Dough (Fathead Dough)

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

2 tbsp cream cheese

1 1/2 cups almond flour

1 large egg

1/2 tsp baking powder

Pinch of salt

For the Chili Cheese Filling

1 lb ground beef (or turkey)

1/4 cup chopped onion

1 clove garlic, minced

1 tsp chili powder

1/2 tsp cumin

1/2 tsp smoked paprika

Salt & pepper to taste

1/2 cup sugar-free tomato sauce

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Egg Wash

1 egg, beaten

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Make the Chili Filling
  2. In a skillet, brown the beef with onions and garlic.
  3. Drain excess fat.
  4. Add chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, pepper, and tomato sauce.
  5. Simmer 5–7 minutes until thick.
  6. Stir in cheddar cheese and let cool.
  1. Make the Keto Dough
  2. In a microwave bowl, melt mozzarella + cream cheese (about 1 minute, stir halfway).
  3. Add almond flour, egg, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Mix until a smooth dough forms.
  5. Knead lightly.
  6. Roll the dough between 2 parchment papers to about 1/4 inch thick.
  1. Shape & Fill
  2. Cut circles (4–5 inches wide) using a bowl or cutter.
  3. Place spoonful of chili mixture into the center.
  4. Fold the dough over to form a half-moon shape.
  5. Seal edges with a fork.
  6. Brush with egg wash.

Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15–18 minutes, or until golden and crisp.

⭐ Tips

Add diced jalapeños for heat.

Store in fridge up to 4 days or freeze up to 2 months.

Reheat in air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 5 minutes.
