Grilled Cheese Sandwich: The Golden Classic of Comfort Food

Ingredients:

4 slices of bread (white, sourdough, or your favorite)

2 tbsp butter, softened

4 slices of cheese (cheddar, American, mozzarella, or a mix)

Optional: a pinch of garlic powder, or add tomato slices or ham for extra flavor

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the pan:
Heat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium-low heat.
  2. Butter the bread:
Spread butter evenly on one side of each bread slice.
  3. Assemble the sandwich:
Place one slice of bread, butter side down, in the skillet. Add the cheese slices on top, then place the second slice of bread, butter side up.
  4. Grill to golden perfection:
Cook slowly until the bottom slice is golden brown and crispy (about 3–4 minutes). Flip carefully and cook the other side until golden and the cheese is fully melted.
  5. Serve hot:
Slice diagonally and enjoy the gooey, melted goodness immediately.

Tips for the Best Grilled Cheese:

Use low heat for even toasting and full cheese melt.

Try a mix of cheeses like cheddar, mozzarella, and Monterey Jack for extra creaminess.

Add-ins like caramelized onions, bacon, or avocado can elevate the classic sandwich.
