Ingredients:
4 slices of bread (white, sourdough, or your favorite)
2 tbsp butter, softened
4 slices of cheese (cheddar, American, mozzarella, or a mix)
Optional: a pinch of garlic powder, or add tomato slices or ham for extra flavor
Instructions:
- Preheat the pan:
Heat a nonstick skillet or griddle over medium-low heat. - Butter the bread:
Spread butter evenly on one side of each bread slice. - Assemble the sandwich:
Place one slice of bread, butter side down, in the skillet. Add the cheese slices on top, then place the second slice of bread, butter side up. - Grill to golden perfection:
Cook slowly until the bottom slice is golden brown and crispy (about 3–4 minutes). Flip carefully and cook the other side until golden and the cheese is fully melted. - Serve hot:
Slice diagonally and enjoy the gooey, melted goodness immediately.
Tips for the Best Grilled Cheese:
Use low heat for even toasting and full cheese melt.
Try a mix of cheeses like cheddar, mozzarella, and Monterey Jack for extra creaminess.
Add-ins like caramelized onions, bacon, or avocado can elevate the classic sandwich.
