- Prepare the potatoes:
Grate the potatoes and place them in a clean kitchen towel. Squeeze out as much liquid as possible to make them crispier. - Mix ingredients:
In a large bowl, combine the grated potatoes, onion, flour, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix well until evenly combined. - Heat the pan:
Add oil or butter to a non-stick skillet and heat over medium heat. - Shape and cook:
Drop spoonfuls of the potato mixture into the hot pan and flatten gently with a spatula.
Cook for 3–4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy. - Serve:
Drain on paper towels. Serve hot with sour cream, garlic sauce, or a soft poached egg.
