Classic Cherry Delight

Ingredients

For the Crust:

2 cups graham cracker crumbs

½ cup (1 stick) melted butter

¼ cup granulated sugar

For the Filling:

8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

8 oz (225 g) whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed

For the Topping:

1 (21 oz) can cherry pie filling

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Crust:
    In a bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and sugar.
    Mix until well blended, then press evenly into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
    Chill for about 30 minutes to set.
  2. Make the Filling:
    In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
    Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract; beat until creamy.
    Fold in the whipped topping until fully combined and fluffy.
  3. Assemble:
    Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the chilled crust.
    Top with cherry pie filling, spreading gently to cover the entire surface.
  4. Chill:
    Refrigerate for at least 2–4 hours (or overnight) to let the layers set and flavors blend.
  5. Serve & Enjoy:
    Slice into squares and serve chilled.
    Optional: garnish with shaved chocolate or crushed nuts for extra flair!
