Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp vegetable oil (or melted butter)
¾ cup warm water (adjust as needed)
1 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or a mix)
1 tbsp butter (for brushing, optional)
Instructions:
- Make the Dough
In a bowl, mix flour and salt.
Add oil and gradually pour in warm water.
Knead until you get a soft, smooth dough.
Cover and rest for 15–20 minutes.
- Prepare the Cheese Filling
In a small bowl, mix the shredded cheese. You can also add herbs like oregano or parsley if you like.
- Assemble the Flatbreads
Divide the dough into 5–6 balls.
Roll one ball into a small circle, add 2 tbsp of cheese to the center, and seal the edges.
Flatten gently and roll it out again into a thin round (about 8 inches wide).
- Cook on a Pan
Heat a nonstick pan over medium heat.
Place the rolled bread and cook until bubbles appear (1–2 minutes).
Flip and cook the other side until golden spots appear.
Optionally brush with butter while hot.
- Serve Warm
Stack and cover with a towel to keep them soft.
Serve with yogurt, chutney, or eat plain — they’re cheesy and delicious!
