Ingredients (for 6–8 pieces)
1 block halloumi cheese (cut into thick slices or cubes)
1–2 tbsp olive oil or butter
Fresh herbs (thyme, oregano, or parsley) — optional but recommended
Instructions
- Prepare the halloumi
Pat dry the cheese with paper towels.
Cut into thick slices or squares (about 1.5–2 cm).
- Heat the pan
Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
Add the olive oil or butter.
- Pan-fry the halloumi
Add the halloumi pieces to the hot pan.
Cook 2–3 minutes per side until deep golden and crispy.
Do not move them too much — let the crust form.
- Add herbs (optional)
Sprinkle fresh thyme or oregano while still warm.
- Serve
Enjoy immediately — halloumi tastes best hot and gooey!
