1 lb (450 g) breakfast sausage
1 cup (115 g) shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1 cup (115 g) shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 cup chopped onion (optional)
1 cup milk
1/2 cup Bisquick or any baking mix
2 large eggs
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat Oven:
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch pie plate. - Cook the Sausage:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage (and onion if using) until browned. Drain any excess grease. - Assemble the Pie:
Spread the cooked sausage evenly over the bottom of the pie plate.
Sprinkle both cheeses over the sausage. - Mix the Batter:
In a bowl, whisk together milk, Bisquick, eggs, salt, and pepper until smooth.
Pour the mixture evenly over the sausage and cheese layer. - Bake:
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a knife inserted in the center comes out clean. - Cool and Serve:
Let it rest for about 5 minutes before slicing. Serve warm and enjoy!
