A homemade dessert in 5 minutes that I never get tired of

Ingredients:

2 cups (500 ml) milk

2 tablespoons cornstarch

1/2 cup (100 g) sugar

1 egg yolk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 tablespoon butter

Crushed tea biscuits (like Maria or Graham crackers) for topping

Instructions:

  1. Make the Cream Base:

In a saucepan, mix the milk, sugar, cornstarch, and egg yolk.

Whisk continuously over medium heat until it thickens (about 3–5 minutes).

  1. Add Flavor:

Once thickened, remove from heat.

Stir in butter and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.

  1. Assemble:

Pour the cream into a serving dish.

Let it cool slightly.

Sprinkle a generous layer of crushed biscuits over the top.

  1. Chill & Serve:

Refrigerate for about 30 minutes for a firmer texture (optional).

Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Tip:

For a twist, layer the cream and biscuits alternately or add a drizzle of caramel or chocolate syrup on top.
