Homemade Lemon Powder

Ingredients

4–5 lemons (organic, if possible)

Optional: 1 tablespoon sugar (for sweetness)

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the lemons
    Scrub them well to remove any dirt or wax.
  2. Peel or slice

For zest powder: Peel off the yellow zest (avoid the white pith).

For full-flavor powder: Slice the lemons thinly (2–3 mm).

  1. Dry the lemon

Oven method: Place on a baking sheet and dry at 80 °C (175 °F) for 2–3 hours until crisp.

Dehydrator: Dry at 60 °C (140 °F) for 6–8 hours.

Sun-drying: Place in direct sunlight for 1–2 days (cover with mesh to keep insects away).

  1. Grind
    Once completely dry, grind the zest or slices into a fine powder using a blender or spice grinder.
  2. Store
    Transfer to an airtight jar (like in the picture). Keep in a cool, dry place.

💡 Uses

Add to baked goods, desserts, or marinades

Mix into tea, smoothies, or yogurt

Sprinkle over salads, seafood, or grilled chicken

Combine with sugar or salt for flavored seasoning
